The Gloryworks Experience was
born from Black history presentations that were developed by the artist
Darryl Chamberlain for local high schools in 1992. The purpose of the
presentations were to promote human understanding and interpersonal respect
while presenting exciting elements of African-American history. The
first four sculptures were created for this presentation after which, they
took on a life of their own and became The Gloryworks Experience. Each
year, other sculptures were added as The Gloryworks Experience grew in
popularity. This article was printed in the Allen American in Allen,
Texas in regards to the first presentation. The presentation was
entitled "Let Thine Eyes See the Glory" from which The Gloryworks Experience
adapted its name. |
