Benefits of the Gloryworks Experience (GWE)

  1. GWE provides an enhancement for school-wide celebrations during  African-American history month.
 
 
  2. The sculptures hold the listener’s attention to subject matter and help to enhance the retention of the information.
 
 
   
  • GWE may explore various elements of African-American literature from pre-

  • Revolutionary  Era to the present.
  • GWE highlights the era of ante-bellum American history.
  • Presents researchable information of lesser-known but nonetheless important figures in African-American history.
 
  3. Listeners are shown the importance of voting in a democratic society.  Some areas of highlight may be:
 
 
   
  • The Franchise, why we must vote
  • The Civil War Era.
  • The Civil-Rights Era.
  • The Harlem Renaissance
 
  4. Flexibility is built into the presentation.
 
 
   
  • Schools are allowed to schedule the presentations to fit their curriculums.
  • Teachers may request special emphasis in areas so as to coordinate with their

  •  lesson plans.
  • Time limits are variable to fit block schedules.
  • Single presentations or full-day, multiple presentations may be selected.
 
  5. GWE provides an excellent forum for teaching human respect and understanding.  
  6. GWE may be formatted to highlight most any element of social or civil studies.
 Gloryworks has been successfully formatted to supplement English and literature
 classes.
 
  7. The GWE is excellent for teacher inservice and PTA meetings.
