A few modifications to the cube and you have a table.  Notice that the table legs are merely rectangles that have taken on the cube form.  While the basic shape of the table is a cube, the table top and the table base are two separate forms of cubes.

The cube may become any number of forms.  Use your imagination and see how many different forms that you can make out of a cube.

The cone may be used to develop a large number of forms.  The square may be combined with the cone form to create a form like the metronome as see above.

The cylinder can become a large number of forms also.   Practice making other forms out of the cylinder.  Practice drawing the basic forms until you are comfortable creating drawings that show height, width, and depth.  Once you are good at the basic forms, practice combining them in a number of ways to make complex forms and shapes.  Observe objects in the room around and notice how some of these objects may be a combination of different forms.

In the drawings above you see various examples of the sphere.
